Huli ka Lima i Lalo: Mahalo & Next Steps

Mahalo nui to everyone who joined us for Huli ka Lima i Lalo! We’re grateful for the strong turnout and the heartfelt energy you all brought to the ʻāina.

And we have exciting news! If you weren’t able to attend—or if you came and want to continue caring for this special place—you’ll have another opportunity. On Monday, December 1, 2025, the Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) Division of Forestry and Wildlife will be at Keahua (Loop Road) and are looking for volunteers to kōkua with mālama ʻāina.

Hana begins at 8:30 AM. DLNR FW will provide tools and protective equipment. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own PPE, water, and appropriate attire (long pants, hat, and closed-toed shoes).

If you’re interested in volunteering, please email caroline.m.kealoha@hawaii.gov.

We also want to uplift the moʻolelo shared by IOW President Pualiʻi Rossi and the wai discussion led by Water Resource Specialist Sarah Faraola—both were incredibly enriching. You can listen to these talks and more this Friday, November 28, from 9-10 AM, on KKCR! IOW board member Micah Bukoski sat down with Angela Zusman from Story for All to recap the Keahua event and share recordings from Pualiʻi and Sarah’s sessions.

✨ HULI 2025! ✨

Our friends at Hawaiʻi People’s Fund have launched HULI25, a special co-fundraiser celebrating 53 years of supporting grassroots activism in Hawaiʻi. The campaign runs Nov 1 – Dec 31.

To donate, simply click the link, select “I Ola Wailuanui” in the “Apply My Donation To” dropdown menu, and 50% of your gift will directly support IOW. The remaining 50% supports Hawaiʻi People’s Fund’s vital work moving resources to community partners through their unique co-fundshifting model—uplifting cross-issue, cross-race, cross-class, community-led movement organizing since 1972.

Last year, I Ola Wailuanui earned a top spot in donations—all thanks to you, our amazing supporters!
